Properly charging lithium batteries is essential for maintaining their longevity and ensuring safety by preventing overcharging. Three-Step Charging for Battery Longevity

Mascot’s chargers use a three-step charging profile that enhances battery performance, extends recharging intervals, and prolongs the battery’s lifespan. The first phase involves constant-current (CC) charging, bringing the battery to 80-95% capacity, indicated by a yellow LED. Unlike lower-cost chargers that might stop here, Mascot’s chargers continue into constant-voltage (CV) mode, reducing the current and flashing the yellow LED. This mode ensures the battery reaches 100% capacity. For LiFePO4 batteries, a float charge is then applied, allowing the charger to remain connected and initiate a new cycle if needed.

Mascot chargers offer additional protection features, including overvoltage, undervoltage, short-circuit, reverse-polarity, and over-temperature protections for both the charger and the battery. They are built with high-quality components, such as long-lifetime capacitors and high-temperature-rated transformers, ensuring durability and reliability.
